There is a limit of up to €2,000 on the amount that can be claimed under this procedure in the District Court. A copy of the completed application form will be sent by the Registrar to the person or business against whom you are making the claim, called the respondent, seeking payment of the amount owed. If the respondent refuses to pay the case can then be taken to the District Court by the Registrar for judgment.
